What is SEO?
SEO is the acronym of Search Engine Optimization. It is a step which involves so many things. But before that, we need to know how search engines work.
When a user searches for a query on their browser, search engines crawl through the content indexed in the database of search engines and display the best possible result by matching query. But how do search engines find out which is the best result for the query? By evaluating the quality of content. To do this task, search engines like Google have got specialized Algorithms that analyze content based on a few parameters.
And apart from Content, search engines have got more than 200 ranking signals. And it is based on how an article is optimized on the ranking signals, results are displayed. And in short, we also need to understand the secret behind ranking on Google. Because it is one of the trademark secrets of Google. If this is the case what is the role of an SEO.
The role of an SEO is to optimize content in a website and make sure the website follows the guidelines and best practices suggested by Google itself.
For example, if you are posting a high quality image on your website. It will still work perfectly if you are having a robust host or custom built server. But the user need not have the same kind of setup so the high quality image may not be displayed properly on the user’s device. This is where you need to monitor the size of an image posted on a website doesn’t exceed. Since we need to be conscious about the size, it is also necessary to use the right image format. Generally, it is advisable to use PNG image format for better quality.
Just like this, there are so many things that an SEO needs to optimize and verify whether the website is following the guidelines of Google.
